It all ends up in the same place

What an amazing day!!! It's funny how your day can start off so ho-hum and end up spectacular. Well, that my be a bit of an exaggeration, but it was a damn fine day!! We went to brunch with my good friend Kathryn (sans Grace-she was with Daddy Dad). The little girls were soooo good and had soooo much fun. I just want to start out by apologizing to Kathryn for Sydney teaching Hailey J. the art of dipping.

Oh, I'm sure you are thinking about ketchup or ranch. Nope. It's milk.

I do not know why, but lately Sydney has been dipping, dunking and downright soaking all her food items in milk. It really is disgusting. The only thing I can make of it is that she loves cereal with milk, and the idea from that was born. Maybe? She made Grace so sick the other day putting, no lie here, green beans and peaches in her milk and then eating/drinking it all. What? It all goes to the same place, right? It's still apart of all the major food groups. Just really wet and nasty!!

Anyway, we had a blast catching up and because of our schedules, we never get to see each other. SO FUN!!!

And THEN, my friend Meredith (here from Cali) came by with her kids (age 1 and 3). They just played and played. Of course, Grace was in charge of the trampoline rules and etiquette. So we got to catch up.

And THEN, my other friend from highschool, Kadie, came over with her little girl (11 months). She and Meredith had seen each other last night at a wedding and made plans to do this get-together. So then we got to catch up. It was an afternoon of catching up!! So.much.fun.

And THEN, my husband came home for the night.

Perfection, I tell ya.

WaLk for the CuRe

Yeah, it's supposed to be "Run for the Cure," but, you know, the kids were with us. Otherwise, I definately would have run. Ha! I'm funny. But really, thank you summer for inviting us to walk. The kids were really into it and it felt great to do something so feel good for such an amazing cause. I loved it!

Don't foget to check out myspace for additional photos.

reason #8437 why parenting should require a license

Today we had our dear friend Anna over for a little trampoline-jumping. You may remember that Grace and Anna have been through quite a lot of mischievous business since becoming friends. They chopped their hair off (Grace's looked better, sorry Ash), they killed zillions of fish and well, that may be all, but really they are pretty sneaky. We have to check on them quite often. So that brings me to today. I heard giggling and such while they were sitting on the couch RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I look over (in between bon bons) and see that they are looking through a rather large book that Wade had placed on the coffee table. Me being me, I had never seen the book, didn't know what it was about, but did assume that it was some kind of artsy thing. I hear them giggling and saying "boobies" etc. I go over and look at the book (obviously a bit too quickly) and seeing something about "50 years" and "cartoons". So I tell Ashli, "oh, it's some book about cartoons, it's all good." The girls continue on with their boobie banter to which I tell Ashli, "oh let's just ignore them, they are trying to get us to react". God, I really am an idiot. I walk back over to them and their book and I then see this:

To which I yell, grab the book and look at the pictures, to which I see this:
Oops.

Happy Belated Birthday Stella

I've been meaning to post about the newest addition to the chick club, Miss Stella Scott born 08-07-06! Oh my God, she is sooo little and precious, although she did surpass her birthweight today (6#1oz--woohoo!) Anyway, Grace is very "jealous" of Anna and can't stand how adorable she is. She wanted to hold her and then wouldn't let me take her! She keeps telling me that I should have another one (fat chance IUD!). Good job, Ashli!!!!!!!!!!!

more pics from the birthday

sorry, but I have to post some more pics from the event. They were too cute to pass up. Enjoy!

How cute is Charlie? what an adorable balloon parasol!

Now I'm sorry to say that Annaliese got the shit-end of the deal with this wimpy wiener dog; she doesn't look too impressed!

Even JH got in on the action, is this kid ever unhappy...hmmm, just give him time.

And of course the naughty duo, Grace and Anna! (If you're wondering about how these adorable girls could be naughty just remember the haircut debauchery of '05!)

And finally, it's SUPERBABY!!!!!!!

the bain of my existence

My life is fairly boring right now so I really have nothing interesting to say... 4th of July would have been awesome if it hadn't rained so I only have 2 pictures from the pool (which Blogger refuses to upload! wooo!!) It was definately the strangest 4th I've ever celebrated...dinner with the hens, cocks (minus Wade) and chicks was fun, too bad no one took pictures of the 2 tables of people that we brought to that poor unsuspecting restaurant. The kids were GREAT! Seeing that they had already been swimming for a couple of hours and then were forced to get out of the pool, they were all on their best behavior and ate really well too! Fireworks: darn it, missed 'em again! Someone asked Grace today if she saw the fireworks last night and I heard her say, "ours were cancelled!" The little girl looked at me like, "huh", and I started laughing hysterically. I feel pretty confident that she won't be in therapy later in life because her mom wouldn't let her watch fireworks as a kid. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'm doing something to her that is therapy-worthy, but, lord, not that!

Another Day with the Hens and Chicks

Just wanted to share some new cute photos I took today after descending on the Steel abode for much needed outdoor fun (thanks Summer!) Let's start with Sydney's favorite activity: eating! and then Sydney's second favorite activity: hitting on Jack Henry (nice hair dude! ) and then there is Sydney chillin' with Alys. Okay, I can see the pattern that is developing here. (f-you, it's my blog!) Just to prove that I can and do take pictures of other children besides the one and only Syd, here is a super shocking picture of lil miss Cate:

WOW!!! I think we all agree that she needs some french fries or something. And the final picture needs no description:

I don't really think Max wants to be there, wad'ya say? or Alys for that matter!

Happy Birthday, Leslie!!!!!
